Dr. Prasanta Sahoo
>Associate Professor of Ocean Engineering at Florida Institue of Technology.
After graduating with first class honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India Joined Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkatta, India as an Assistant Naval Architect. He was awarded one of two scholarships given by Government of India to pursue PhD in Germany. On return worked as Assistant Manager (Technical Services) at Goa Shipyard, Goa, India and was subsequently promoted to Deputy Manager (CAD/CAM). He worked in this position until 1992 before leaving for Australia to take up a new position as Lecturer (Naval Architecture) at the Australian Maritime College. At the Australian Maritime College he rose to the position of Senior Lecturer (Hydrodynamics), where he served in this capacity until December 2008. Since January 2009, he has been with FIT as Associate Professor of Ocean Engineering.
Associate Professor Sahoo has has published over 25 refereed articles on hydrodynamics of high-speed craft. At Florida Tech, he teaches of high-speed small craft, fundamentals of offshore engineering and introduction to ocean engineering. He has initiated a development of new courses such as dynamics of marine vehicles, design of marine propulsion system and structural design of marine vehicles which will be offered in fall 2009/spring 2010.
Rolf has a broad management experience from various senior management positions in the A. P. Moller Group as CFO and Country Manager. He has worked in such diverse countries as Denmark, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Jamaica, Gambia and Brazil, in the latter as Group CFO from 2003 to 2007.
Through these various positions he has built an intercultural understanding and can provide guidance on organizational growth, start-ups, funding, hedging, due diligence, cost control, process reviews, projects, M&A, corporate structure, etc.
Currently Rolf is CEO of Exact Capital & Consulting (ECC), a company based in Sao Paulo specialized in assisting foreign companies to enter the Brazilian market, and ECC is furthermore administrating a private equity fund with base in Denmark. The fund is focusing on investing in small to midcap Brazilian companies, in the start up or early stage.
Rolf holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in International Finance from Handelshøjskolen in Aarhus, Denmark. He is fluent in Danish (mother tongue), English and Portuguese.
Mr. Dietrich has been a financial services technology executive for 16 years. He is a former managing director of AXA Technology Services’ office of the CTO, where he led the technology strategy for the world’s largest insurance and financial services provider. At AXA, he designed and instituted major technology transformation programs, such as network simplification and green computing, and fostered the transition into non-Windows mobile device platforms and cloud-based services. Since 2002, he has provided consulting services to CEOs of high-value small- and medium-sized businesses, aligning business goals with new technology strategies, and managing implementation programs. He has also held C-level leadership and senior technologist at eVantage Solution LLC, a spinoff of Deutsche Bank, and Reuters’ Effix risk division in Paris.
Christopher Wall is a Partner at Phoenix Asset Management. Previously, he was a Director at Vision Capital Advisors, LLC where he focused on working with distressed portfolio companies and managing investment opportunities in healthy and distressed companies.
Mr. Wall serves as Chairman of the board, at Ocean Smart, Inc and is a director at David Corporation and Profitkey International. He has also served as a director on the boards of Halo Technology Holdings, 4 Elements, Inc. and Fulmer Logistics.
